EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT(EQ) MORE IMPORTANT THAN INTELLIGENT QUOTIENT(IQ).
Intelligent Quotient or IQ is a number used to express a person's mental ability that consists of problem-solving skills, memory, knowledge of the world, and visual processing. People with high IQs manage to get high-paying jobs as they beat the average Joe in any academic skill test. But, what if, someone with a high IQ has problems managing their emotions and ends up abusing someone at work. No one wants to work with a toxic person no matter how intelligent that person might be. This is where the Emotional Quotient comes into play. Yes, a high IQ can get you a high-paying job, but you can lose your job if you don't have high EQ.
Emotional Quotient refers to a person's ability to perceive, control, evaluate, and express emotions. People with high EQ are good at working in teams, making friends, understanding others, and expressing themselves. They are more open-minded, less judgemental, empathetic, and often liked by most of their colleagues at work. They put themselves in other people's shoes and think from their perspective. They are more successful in developing friendly networks that would result in good career opportunities and good life.
Humans are emotional beings. The Intelligent Quotient is too narrow to measure one's success as many life decisions are based on our emotions that form part of the emotional quotient. A person with a high IQ is doomed to fail if he takes a decision in the midst of emotional turmoil.
